I am running Win2k and had Internet Explorer 5.5. Even with all the cookies enabled, it will not remember any cookies and sites continually tell me I need cookies enabled when it actually is.

I installed Internet Explorer 6.0 and it's the same deal. I fully allowed all cookies and the sites still tell me I need cookies enabled. It seems that cookies will not even save? Has anybody heard of this, or know any fixes?

Thanks

If you go to the registery, go to start->Run and type regedit you can navagite to a key called
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\Cache\Cookies
and make sure that the value for PerUserItem is set to 1 and not 0 this can be changed by double clicking on the key.
and make sure that your cachelimit is not too small to hold any cookies.

also check the key at location...
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-52631187-2054711732-1846952604-1007\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\Cache\Cookies

I tried both suggestions and neither worked.. The two settings in the registry were both already at 1.. and the chache was big enough, I made it bigger just to test..Still nothing. I am unsure as what the problem could be. This sure is a pain though. :)
I'm always open to new suggestions..

I appreciate your effort

Paradox,

After clicking the delete \Cookies button in IE6, have you navigated to:

Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME\Cookies\yourname@blahblah[1].txt and made sure all text files are deleted. Delete them manually if there are still some left.

You have MANY options for accepting or rejecting cookies on the Privacy tab in IE6 Internet Options. Look over those settings.

I'm afraid it seems like it saves SOME cookies now but not all.
It has been doing this even before IE6 while I was using v5.5.

I can get websites like download.com and such to save a cookie.. but for messag boards and such it will not save any cookies. I don't think these boards have much of a privacy problem so IE6 shouldn't be blocking them.. Plus 5.5 did it as well, so, I am not quite sure what's wrong. Well thanks for tryin' guys.
