internet explorer is messing up my template

ok so i spend some time changing my template from tables to CSS and it looks great (at least i think so)... now I find out that 90% of the world is gonna see it all messed up (yes... internet explorer is messing it up!!!) it looks great with firefox... looks perfect with opera... validates correctly... but internet explorer makes it seem all out of place.... anybody has any ideas how to fix this?

also, when i validate my CSS i only get this warning:

but I am using "arial" as my font.... i thought that arial was a generic family... any suggestions on how to fix that?
