We have Acrobat Reader 4.05 on NT 4.0 SP4 and some users can't open pdf's in Internet Explorer. When I login as Admin, everything is fine.<br>Any comments welcome

If your browser opens a blank page then its the way Acrobat is configured to act as a helper application -

Under preferences in
Acrobat >
File>
General >

Web Browser integration should be turned of so that Acrobat opens the document outside the browser.

Also uncheck &quot;allow background downloading&quot;

We had this too and the following worked for us:

Logon as administrator.

Delete the folder &quot;C:\Winnt\Temporary Internet Files&quot;.

Create a fresh &quot;C:\Winnt\Temporary Internet Files&quot; folder.

Ensure that the IE settings for the user point to this folder rather than &quot;C:\Winnt\Profiles\%Userid%\Temporary Internet Files&quot;.

I am also told you need Acrobat Reader 4.0.5c or later, but I can't vouch for that as we have 4.0.5c anyway.

Good luck

Thank you Phil Colins....

You are not only a great songwriter but also a great NT specialist.

I think that the problem has to do with wrong permissions for the folder &quot;C:\Winnt\Temporary Internet Files&quot;.

I am experiencing this problem using WinXP and Acrobat 5. I have read the Microsoft Knowledgebase Article listed above, and this describes my problem exactly. Unfortunately, it is for an older version of IE and there are no resolution steps listed.

Has anyone had this problem with WinXP, Acrobat 5 and IE6? Please HELP!!!
