Hi.

we make an update from ie5 to ie6 + sp1. since this we had
the problem that the registry size on our win2k servers with citrix xp increases to 86 mb. the max. size is set to 150 mb. but if they reach the size of 86 mb no more logins are possible under citrix. have anyone an idea why the size is getting so big ?

Thanks for help.

You should check how many people login on that server and how big their profiles are (and especially the ntuser.dat). If for example 30 persons login with a ntuser.dat which is 5 MB, then you need 150 MB of registry mem.
It's always advisable in a citrix enviroment to regularly do a check (scripting) on the profile sizes. Especially if you haven't tuned your server on this (replace temp internetfiles to other folder etc).

we do delete all unnecessary files in the profiles every night. we have jsut 60 users per server but in the past it works fine. but since we install ie6 we have this problem.

Where do you place the temporary internet files of the user ? Are they in the profile ? I can imagine that installing IE6, the installer overwrites certain settings to default. Make also sure that on a citrix server you do NOT install things like Netmeeting, Microsoft Wallet etc. You only want IE6, and if nescessary Outlook Express 6. But actually you do not want Outlook Express.

yes, the temp. internet files are in the profiles. we delete them every night. the ntuser.dat isn't very big of each user so this point seems to be ok.
we have 5 servers and it is every day another one who have such a big registry.
