Problem occurs using IE6.0 SP1. CPU usage @ 100% when initiating browser. Other browsers (Mozilla-Firefox) don't create this problem. Once IE initiated, browsing can occur. However, cannot close browser without proceeding through Task Manager. Also, cannot initiate trading platform at htttp:// IE is only browser currently that trade platform uses.
Ran AVG anti-virus scan, Ad-aware scan, Spy-bot spyware scan, cleaned cache of files and cookies. Problem still exists. Please help with concise resolution procedures. Thank you.

I saw other posts here at Tek-Tips (Jan.-Feb.'04) but resolution was not clear, at this point.

Have you looked at FAQ608-4650 yet?

change "IsInstalled" to 0.
now you can reinstall ie6
