We have a Windows Professional Laptop that has a third party web server on it. In 95 it was possible to view this web page without needing a network connection.

In 2K something completely different happens it says the web page is uanavailable. Strange as the content exists on the machine. This prompts us with a cancel or try again option. Pressing try again will load the web page correctly.

Can someone help me with answering these questions. What is different when using the "Try Again" to opening up IE. Is there anyway of getting around this problem? We have to roll this out to a fair few users and I can imagine them getting pretty p!ssed off if they have to do that everytime.

Thanks in advance

I've seen this even on 2k Advanced Server using MS's IIS. It's not specific to your 3rd party web server, that much I can tell you! Jarod, The Lab Guy

How did you get around it or didn't you?

Still there to this day, I'm pretty sure, but since that we have put it on a network and it's happy. It pretty much assumes that the page you're trying to reach is through a network, which I guess for the most part would be true, with a few exceptions. Jarod, The Lab Guy
