IE
I have 2 win98 se computers, one with a 56k modem and connection sharing enabled.
If I initiate an Internet connection from this host pc, after the specified idle time, I am prompted to disconnect.
If I initiate an Internet connection from the client pc, the connection does not terminate after the specified idle time.
How can I configure this set-up so that no matter which pc initiates the connection, it will terminate after the specified idle time has elapsed?

It's my understanding that you are stuck within the win98 system. In win 2k it works great and allow the users to keep the connection current; however in the Win 98 it often times out. Sadly I think you will have to support Billy and upgarde to Win 2k unless someone else has a third party fix?

When a connection is made from the host comupter, it disconnects when the alloted idle time is reached. This is correct and the way in which I need it to work.
The problem occurs when I make the connection from the client computer. The connection is established through the host and everything is ok at this point. However, If I leave the connection idle by closing IE on the client, the host does not prompt to disconnect when the alloted idle time is reached. This is obviously a problem as the internet connection remains active.
I need the connection to terminate when the specified idle time is reached, regardless of which computer initiates it.
On the host computer in IE/Tools/InternetOptions/Connections/Settings/Advanced, idle time is set to the required period. I have ticked and unticked diconnect when no longer needed, which does not resolve the problem.
There is no such option on the client as there is no modem installed.
I would be grateful for any further suggestions.
