Using XP pro Service pack 1
I have a laptop running XP Pro with a built in NIC. I also have a wireless PMIC card that I use when I am moving around my house.
The problem I have is that whenever I use the wireless card, my system recognizes the NIC and logs me into the network. Everything works fine with the exception of the Internet connection. It comes up disabled and trying to enable the device does not seem to have any positive impact. If I disable the Wireless NIC and then re-enable it, sometimes this get the internet connection working sometimes not.
I have tried removing the NIC and reinserting it, and device manager indicates the device is working properly. The frustrating part is that the internal network connection works fine. I have access to my server and all my network resources except for the internet connection.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can resolve this problem?
