Guys:

Quite new to exchange config and from days of setting up internal domain I have chosen a ".Local" domain name as I never thought I would have contact with outside world - however I have now installed exchange into the environment and added mailboxes for internal users....Is there anyway I can change these mailboxes to they can send and receive external mail?

Is it as simple as going into the user account in AD and changing their email address from .local to lets say .com (so long as I have purchased the .com namespace)...Do i need to reconfig smtp addresses too.

Hope this makes sense and someone can help!!!!

Many Thanks

In Exchange System Manager, you can create a new smtp address in recipient policies and apply it to all the users. You can set the new address as the primary and leave the old one in place if needed.
