Internal Messaging software

Hello Everyone,

I have a client that wants to implement Internal messaging software. They do not want the software being able to access the Internet for chatting but just for the LAN.

I have two questions

1. Can MSN Messenger be set up in such a way that it can only be used via internal LAN Users and if so could I get some links to implement

2. Is there other alternatives out there that you could suggest. Preferably something secure and well known and not just a freeware program that could easily be hacked or give us the enjoyment of spyware.

Hey there. I have a Microsoft LCS 2005 server running on my network with windows messenger as the client. Its only configured for intranet users and is not setup for outside IM... It has been a very good product and is highly used.
