I'm currently migrating from exchange to google. I have some users on using google and some still on exchange. When I send emails from google everyone gets it. However when I'm sending emails from exchange only people who are still on exchange receive them. Exchange is not routing local domain emails out.

Anyone have any suggestions how to get exchange to route emails out?

You want to set your Accepted Domains entry for your domain so that it is NOT authoritative for your domain name. That will allow your server to route mails that can't be delivered locally on out to Google.

You should also have a Send Connector that sends mail bound to your domain name out to the Google servers.

Hi Dave,

I have tried setting up a Send Connector but to no luck.

Either it is not properly set or invalid values.

SMTP: * Cost: 1
Smarthost: smtp.gmail.com
Basic Authentication->TLS

Do I need to restart transport services?

Gmail's servers don't accept mail on normal port 25. I believe you should look at their configuration instructions for a client and then implement them for this Send Connector.

Namely, I believe you'll probably need to change your port from the default 25 to something else, probably 587.

To change the port on the Send Connector you will need to use PowerShell. Something like:

set-sendconnector [sendconnectorname] -port 587

Thanks for your help Dave.

I couldn't get it work.

So I just work around it by forwarding emails to a Google alias accounts.
