We have a Clipper '87 system running on a Novell server with 4 workstations. Our reindexing function will only run from the server. When attempting to run on a workstation we get BLDINDEX line 621 Internal error 92 (where BLDINDEX is the procedure). Upon inspection of line 621, we see that the program is attempting an INDEX ON command (not the first one). Exclusive is SET to ON.
Anybody have any leads?

Thanks

This isn't a solution. We have the same problem with two different programs. Did you ever find the answer? Let me know at mvicmaz@omh.state.ny.us
Thanks

I search for your error and I found this:

92 SORT/INDEX ON Error

The system is unable to create a temporary file during a SORT or INDEX
operation. This can occur for one of the following reasons:

1) No disk space;

2) Disk is write-protected;

3) No more directory entries; or

4) The file already exists and is read-only.

I hope this will help you solve your problem.

possible solution...

I have the exact same problem with a Clipper proggie on my Netware 4.11 server.

I have found that only certain users have rights to create/edit/etc. the temp files needed during a re-index.

I cannot pinpoint exactly which rights you need to enable, as my account has ADMIN rights, so I just login using my own account whenever we need to do a full re-index (don't trust my users to do that anyway LOL).

Since you say you can run your re-index from the server, I imagine it is a similar situation; you probably log-in at the server with an ADMIN-level account, and lesser/restricted access accounts on your workstations.

Hope this helps...
