Ok...

I just got a HP zv6000 laptop.
WinXP Pro
Broadcom wireless card
Westell router for my DSL
Not running WEP
Hidden SSID for wireless.

It detects the wireless and works fine, but every few minutes it randomly reconnects. The signal is strong most of the time.

This has become more of an issue when trying to play a game, it drops me due to this connection problem.

i have researched it and cannot find an answer that seems to fit. I am a bit overwhelmed now.

Any help?

Is your wireless card a "G" protocol? The Westell bridge supporst both "B" and "G", but you'll get better results from "G".

Is there anything that could be causing interference, such as cordless phones, microwave, baby monitor?

You may try changing to a different channel in the router settings and chinging the mode to "G only", providing your adapter is "G".

I switched the network adapter to the 54g instead of the 802.1b setting. I also changed the channel from 11 to 6, which is the channel my router is set to.

Working perfect now that I can tell!

so bygeek, sounds like u were right. :)
