Please help!

We recently had some problems with our T1's following a storm. After resolving these issues we now have
intermittent static and crackling on our digital sets on several different digital cards. The static exists on all calls: extension to extension, inbound and outbound coming over the T1's and copper lines.

Our telephone vendor replaced the digital cards but the problem still exists. Can anyone provide any insight? Thanks.

Are these call's in a particular loop or shelf. If your not sure, trac some call's or take note of the DN's and check. Maybe, if it is a loop you can start trouble shooting cards.

if you can't narrow it down to a shelf or digital card,

could be a bad clock card , do you have a single cpu opt11

or 51c or a reduntant system opt61c or 81c

if it is redundant does it happen every day or evryother day

the clock cards switch during midnight routines

also could be PERSIG CARD

NORTIC

We have a single cpu opt 11, the static occurs regularly everyday.

Has water leaked into your wiring closets and run down the wiring blocks? If so you can bet there is some corrosion taking place at the cross connects, which was the source of our static. This has happened to us and now, months later the corrosion is getting worse. Constant static problems. Just another possibility. Our problem affected both analog and digital.

can you narrow it down to a station card,

if not i would remove the t-1 card or cards you had worked on

starting with the one that has the clock controller

perform a test from phone to phone internal, see if static goes away

if not procedd to the next card
