Hi all

Any one had this problem before.
Have got a VPN between two sites, have an interimtant problem where i cannot see the Unix system all the time while the VPN is up.
I have no problem in connecting to the Windows Server on the same network via Terminal services.
The gateway for the router is in the tcpip settings on the Unix Server, have flushed the routing tables and rebooted the system.
netstat -rn looks fine.
The AIX is 5.2 with Maintenance level 2.
I have set this sort of connection up numerous times to other Unix systems and do not have a problem.

Any idea's please
Thanks

Hi.

VPN usually uses mtu Size 1492, or smaller. Standard MTU Size for Ethernet is 1500. Take a Test by changing the mtu Size on the Interface to 1492, or activate tcp_pmtu_discover=1, udp_pmtu_discover=1 ( no Command )
