Intercom interupted by incoming calls

Bare with me guys, I just got a new job and the company I am with has a Nortel system, I am coming from a 3Com NBX 100, so I don't know all the Nortel jargin. Basically here is my problem, I don't know if it is system wide or a phone issue but I have user that is setup for outside calls to ring in to her phone, if she takes a call and places that call on speaker or intercom if additional calls come in they over ride the current call? Basically the phone still rings for all outside lines and cuts off the person speaking? Is there anyway to turn that off system wide or on each phone? I did a search but not knowing the actual terms makes keyword searching tough. Thanks

iether turn down ringer or maybe try dnd on set...should flash not ring when on first call"with dnd

I dont think it cuts off people when on Intercom/Handset, at least it shouldnt...I would test that your self to see.
In handsfree mode it would cut the speaker/caller off being that it is not full duplex.

Do as Lugerlover states but also suggest upgrade to T7316E since it has a red light that flashes too.

If I put the DND on won't that stop all incoming rings even when she is not on speaker or another line? I still want her to have incoming calls whether she is on the phone or not, I just want it so that if she is on another line the line just lights up or blinks? I can't test it on my phone becasue my phone is not setup to get incoming calls? And I don't know how to swtich it, is that an easy fix?

under capabilitys there is option for dnd on busy...not the key feature which is dnd all the time

That should be the one, I am going to put it on right now thanks a lot Luger, just so you know DND on busy is hard to search for when you don't know nortel jargin at all it took me an entire paragraph to explain a three word feature. One of these days ill know all these terms.
