Hello
I am new to this type of position. I am a network engineer and do to budget changes I have inherited the telephones as and addition to my current work. I have an old mics system at one of the schools I maintain. Today they have called and after programming a phone yesterday, there intercom button and 90# no longer works for the all call. however once on sight I found that I can still use the intercom to call individual class rooms still. which apparently they have never done before. please help me.
Thank you in advance.

First off this is the BCM forum
You want the Norstar forum in future:

What the heck is an ALL CALL?
If your Intercom does work then what is the issue with it?

9, 0 and # if the keys pad does not work then faulty phone as you cannot program buttons on a keypad.

Suggest you give details when posting, also sounds like you need training and not tips. Best to call a vendor and learn the system as no trianing goes on here.

9 0 # are not a Nortel numbering plan for paging, it would be a key programmed for a feature code like feature 6 1 0 for paging all the phones.

I believe you might have a Valcom paging system of sorts where intercom + 9 gives you a trunk to the module, 0 of that module is all zones and # an execute.

After you press the # key, shoulding you be pressing the page zone such as 0 for all call?

Or should the number be 9 then # then 0 for all zones.

Curly to explain school terminology, most schools that once had an old dukane pa system called the microphone the all call, for paging the whole school. For some reason telephone paging never really caught on in the school environment.

It is hooked up to a Rauland mcz300 with a sw25 switch. (PA system)

If your press intercom and 9 it says invalid number. I tryed to bypass with speed dial and I am still at a loss. If i send it through speed dial it will connect with the PA but gets a fast busy signal and the PA read out says busy. I am going to go follow wires this afternoon afterschool gets out and see exactly how it is hooked up to the intercom from the phone box.

What digits are in the display when you press or enter the speed dial. You are doing this from what model of phone?

pretty sure the PA is connected to the phone system by ATA and it was probbably connected as an ext # but still at a loss. there is no pool with 9 pool A is the only one in use. was reading and it was suggested to assign the trunk port to the pool group but not sure how to to be honest.

Got it thanks for the help! everyone! PA came in on line 4 assigned Line4 on phone and can access the all call by pushing 0# still dont know where they got 90# from was wondering if maybe it was set to 9 to dial a line pool that line 4 was in and then 0# but your guess is as good as mine. good news is I have 4 other elementary schools that can be setup the same way if there is ever a power outage that causes this again.
