I'm trying to open an Idesign CS2 Interchange file in Indesign CS. It brings up the loading bar, but once it gets to about 3/4 of the way Indesign crashes. I've downloaded the latest plugin and have talked the the person who created the document. Help?

Make sure that you've downloaded the 3.01 update April 2005. It's necessary to open interchange docs.

If you have that update try using the Open command.

Yeah, I've downloaded the 3.01 update. It's still crashing Indesign. I'm using OSX 10.4.8 G5.

Just to make sure - there were 2 3.01 updates. The one dated April 2005 was the necessary one.

Assume you used Open rather than double clicking.

You might want to ask the creator if they used any third party plugins - there a like a billion on the Adobe Indesign plugins download page.

Worse comes to worse, you can always just grab an Indesign update to CS2 for 170 bucks.

Poopers on me. Forgot about any color management problems.

...i had a similar issue the other day, i deactivated all fonts, cleaned the font caches out and tried again whilst having the .inx file in tha same folder as all my images, you could try that out, or get them to re-make the inx file if it is still playing up...
