I Just readed thread posted by JeremyLoh

(I have try to run Interbase 6.0 on Window 2003 and when I connect to the database, the respond is very slow. It take about 2-3 min to log on to the interbase server. But when I in the database, the respond on search or save seems to be OK.)

I must use Interbase 6.0 in Windows 2003, I am thinking installing the system restore propertie in Windows 2003 an then disable it...

Anyone Knows around this problem?

Thanks in Advance

Sorry,

I have tried Firebird 1.5 and works fine.

Regards

It is a known issue, that's why Borland chaged the default database extension to IB and for Firebird is FDB
The GDB extension is included in System Restore stuff, so any opening or update is slower, because changes are saved/logged by System Restore.

I'm sure that this has nothing to do with the number of Interbase install base :)

Try after you change extension to something else.

Hello
There is another issue with Interbase and 2003 server and Hyperthreading. We had the same issue you seem to be having and system restore is disabled by default. Our answer was to go into the system BIOS and disable hyperthreading "this is assuming that you have a hyperthreading CPU". This corrected the Interbase connection delay but will have an impact on software that uses hyperthreading technology.
Hope this helps
