Interacting with Touch Tone Systems

I need to put together an app that will dial a phone number, wait for responses and key in tones to retrieve voice data.

The inbound voice data needs to be recorded too so I can feed it through a voice recognition system.

Has anyone done anything close to this before? Any ideas where to start? Will the MSCOMM ctl do what I need and how do I go about recording the inbound voice?
