Hi,

I have a Nortel ers 1648. I upgraded it to the latest version of code.

I have 2 vlans configured on this unit. I have a multicast server in one vlan and the receivers in the other one.

ERS 1648 can support IGMPv1-v2 and PIM-SM mode. I have been unlucky so far. I tried many things but i couldnt manage to make the inter-vlan routing work for some reason. Nortel documentation absolutely doesnt help.

Has anyone did it before?
Does anyone have a step-by-step guide?
Thanks for the help....

Can you post a copy of your config so we can see what's missing.

You need an ip address on all vlans
These ip interfaces need to be involved in either rip or ospf

enable pim
enable candidate rp and bsr
enable pim on all vlans

igmp
enable globally
enable snoop on vlans
if you only have one router you don't really need mrdisc. but its worth enabling it.

Thank you guys.
Both solutions helped me a lot...

It works now!
