Is there a problem with Intel motherboards, specifically the Intel 865GBFL, and APacer Ram. I am trying to use Hyperthreading and getting lock-ups. The Ram is ddr 400 2 sticks of 256MB. When I do a ram test, Memtest86, everything checks out fine. I think it might have something to do with the hyperthreading.

Intel should have a list of compatable ram either in the motherboard documentation or on their website.

I checked the Intel site and the memory is not listed. I am going to get some Crucial RAM and see if that fixes the problem. Crucial lists that it is guaranteed compatible but intel does not list it on their site. Intel's list is only ones they have tested so APacer might not have been tested but that does not mean it is incompatible.

Hola, I build a system for a friend of mine, based on the Intel 875 chipset, and I used Infineon PC3200 (DDR400) and it works perfectly...

just my 2 cents worth...

Well, I started out with an Abit IS-10 mobo and it uses the Intel 865 chipset but there were compatibility issues with the Raid controller card so it is specific mobos you have to look at and not just the chipset. Thanks for the inputs everyone.
