integrated wireless problems after xp pro upgrade

After retail box upgrade xp home->xp pro SP 1 on Sony PCG SRX99 laptop with previous OK integrated Orinoco wireless, view available wireless networks screen now never completes loading( no opportunity to configure and connect). Wired LAN and other functions are normal, other laptops access wireless OK

Found that 802.XX authentication was checked, cleared it to return to our normal setup,other entries normal, no change,
no wireless network screen, wireless turned on and LED on, reloaded drivers for wireless and reboot, no change. Device mgr shows wireless OK

Tried Windows updates related to wireless networking, WPA, no change

Sony's site has post that problem exists with wireless WPA and XP Pro and their equip, are investigating... may try to find a way to get revert before Win update with WPA, but wireless was not working before Win update

Other USB wireless NIC installed shows link light, but same problem with avail wireless networks screen not completely loaded.

In case this is Similar to slow (15 mins) load and display of domains after upgrade and join domain, left laptop overnight to see if avail wless networks screen ever loads completely.

Have seen simlar posts on other manuf laptop (HP)indicated missing SW any ideas?

found that after uninstall device in device manager, and scan for hardware changes, then letting it reinstall driver, integrated wireless came back up and after correcting 802.11 authentication entry to clear it, integrated wireless works.
