integrate Mitel SX-200ICP and Cisco CallManager

Realizing that I am totally not familiar with the SX-200ICP and its interoperability features/capabilities, I am looking for the best suggestions from the experts in this forum.

Quite sure that the SX-200ICP doesn't support SIP/H.323 trunks directly to CallManager, looks like a Gateway will be required.

[SX-200ICP]<--ISDN/PRI/??-->[GW]<--SIP Trunks-->[CallManager]

What would the best protocol to use between SX-200ICP and the GW? Has anyone done this before? Any guides or instructions available?

You could use a 3300 CX as the gateway with T1 QSIG from the SX200 & SIP yo the CM or you could upgrade the 200 ICP to a 3300 MXE re-using the TDM bays and then SIP to the CM.

What is the difference between 3300CX and 3300MXE?

Seems like an upgrade to one of these is absolutely required to integrate to the CM (via T1(Qsig) or SIP) - which upgrde do you think will involve minimum cost?

You do not need a 3300 at all if you go with a T1 link.

The differnce between a CX and MXe is scale. CX is much smaller. It is not smaller where it matters though for your purpose.

Wonderful, if I could add a T1 to the SX-200ICP, that would be great. However, I think it has 2 T1's already connected to PSTN, which we don't want to touch.

Ideally, add another T1(Qsig) to a Cisco GW which establish SIP trunks with the CM

Now, the question is: What would it require to add another T1 expansion card to the SX-200 (as the 2 ports it comes with are already used)?

Assuming there is a module slot available (likely), simply add another T1 Module and Digital Trunk License(s)
