Hi I am trying to extract the setup.iss file from the install shield version of java 1.4.06.

I am going to the command line and doing the following:

java.exe /R

Is this switch available in java?

Not actually sure what you're asking here.

1) Why do you want the setup.iss file?
2) If you're trying to install java, why not just download it from the sun site?
3) You can only do things like java <whatever> once java is installed.
4) The java command does not have a /R switch. What is it that you are trying to do?
5) What platform are you using?

Incidentally, Java 1.4.2 is the latest JDK1.4 release.

Ok. I will post in the other forum. I am trying to install java silent. I want to extract the setup.iss so I can push it to all users via a batch script of vb script.

I meant a batch script or vb script. Or maybe even use psexec.
