Hi, I'm setting up a database in Filemaker Pro 6. I'm stuck at a point where I'm trying to get some functionality for the web, but while still using IWP.

I'm trying to create a button that does a date/time stamp in the web app, but I've noticed that "Set Field" and "Insert Calculation" don't seem to work. Is there a way to do this?

I'm hosting the file through FM Server 5.5 and using FM Pro Unlimited to host the web interface. I noticed that if the machine hosting Unlimited doesn't refresh the values, then the web site doesn't appear to be refreshed. How can I make sure that the site is refreshed often enough to give the correct data?

Thanks for any help that you guys can generate.

switch to Custom Publishing....easy with CDML
don't run scripts over the web
all the best!

How do I do Custom Publishing? I've looked over the documentation, but it doesn't really tell me how to get started.

What files do I need?
Where do I put them?
How do I generate the layouts in CDML that I've already created in FM Pro?

hello fngkestrel!
I really don't know if these forums have a section on CDML (ChlarisDynamicMarkup Language)...so I will cross-re-direct you to that has A LOT MORE info....
to sum up:
-Custom Web publishing IS included in your documentation and it is set much like instant...just select some.html vs. Default.html.
-Also, you WILL need to know HTML and Perhaps JavaScript.
-You will need to D/L CDMLreference.fp5 file/book from filemaker.com to learn the CDML tags (much like <td> in HTML)
Before anything I suggest you go to fmforusm.com and spend some time reading....there are many ways of approaching your goals which some can be ..well free and some can be costly. Also, consider what importance the data carries...is this for the Intranet or Internet....
anyway, look my posts on fmforums.com since that is more of &quot;fm focus&quot; group.
all the best
