Has anyone tried installing Windows Server 2003 on a NetFinity 5000? I've read that it's not a supported install but I wonder if anyone has had any success doing it. Thanks, Steve

Done it, but I'm not using the onboard video or SCSI controller. Should work, but your mileage may vary.

How did this install go? Any problems with Serveraid 3L cards on 2003 install? About to do this on the weekend.

Went good. I upgraded my controller bios, firmware, and ServeRaid Manager to 6.10 and everything went fine. It's humming along smoothly as an intranet server.

Did you need to make any adjustments to the raid driver/bios versions during install or did you do your firmware after NOS install?

Ahh, I'm trying to remember. I have some documentation that I put together while I was planning the upgrade. I noted to load the raid controller drivers during the o/s load. Then load the controller bios and firmware.

Download the ServeRaid 6.10 file from the IBM website. It's huge (600mb). Then burn it to a CD. There are instructions on that disk in the Books subdir. The disk will have the drivers, bios and firmware files. I used that disk and followed the directions and it worked good.

Thanks, I will check it out.
