Installing VS 2005 on x64 Pro

Has anyone had the experience of installing VS 2005 on Windows XP x64 Professional?

It's supposed to be compatible, but I've been getting an error every time I try to install it and it ends up with an incomplete install.

"Error 1304 Error writing ot file .... verify that you have access to that diretory.
