Hope someone can help me here. Had software running on XP previously but started having issues with the O/S so I decided to fdisk the drive & do a clean install. NOTE, there is only the Administrator account running on this machine as it was before the clean install. Now when I attempt to install Backup Exec, it proceeds as normal till the User Profile prompt. I get a error msg stating I don't have proper access???? WTF happened here !!!!! How much more access do I need when I have FULL ACCESS. Also noted there isn't the Backup Exec Services available in services....never installed????

After trying to create another account and fails, I cancel the install. Weird thing is all the files that were copied during the attempted install has vanished. No files in the Veritas dir.

Can someone tell me what the issue is here?????

TIA

Backup Exec 8.5 is not meant to run on XP. What you need is 8.6 build 3878. This version runs nice on XP.

Well now I've upgraded to BU exec 8.6 and the same issues are there. Any further suggestions???

FYI I was running bu exec 8.5 on XP pro prior to reformatting the server. Now no matter what I do I can't seem to get past the initial install.

Regards
