Installing the Echange Agent

Is it difficult to install the Exchange Agent with Backup Exec? Is there anything I should be aware of before installing? Thanks.

We've just purchased BackupExec and I'm currently migrating to it from Arcserve. I installed it for Exchange 5.5 and had no problem at all.

The only thing you need to remember is that if the Backup is running on a different server, you need to install the exchange administrator s/w on that server and also outlook for mailbox backup.

Also - I tried installing before I had read the instructions and attempted to install the agent on the exchange server, which is the Arcserve way. But then realised the agent goes on the media server where BE is running.

Arc server is much better believe me why are you changing if it working for you?

i will try Arc Server, but for the longest time, Backup Exec had worked beautifully

you must install it properly, and if it gives you any trouble, get rid off it and start all over, do not try to patch and fix it, i find more problem doing that way
