I am trying to install a t1 card 720C. I did get some documentation on programing the card from shoretel.
I just have a few questions if anyone can help. I have an open net shelf in net 2 that I would like to populate.
I know it is slot specific and that is my problem. I have slots 6-14 open on Net 2 shelf 1. I believe the tie would be 80 something.
Do I need to have the enet card installed also. Can I put both in the same shelf.
I have worked with t1 cards already installed just never set one up on my own.
I did get some information from previous posts also. Any help would be appreciated.

The system is an 81c on 4.5 - forgot to post

A 720 cards require an enet card, that would be cabled to the 720, I would try to keep the 720 out of the network shelf or move it as far to the right as possible.

How does the system know when you program the card to what slot your using?
I was thinking of putting it in slot 13-14

You will have to place a QPC414 card into the network slot you program. Looks as if loop 0 or 3 are the most obvious choice. Place the 720 card in a slot that will not block network space if you can, it only needs power.

I have the loop installed and everything is looking good. Thanks to all who shared.
One question is . is there a way to print out the specs or your loop other than a cequ print out?

thats really about it, other than printing the channel's in LD 20(TNB), the dchannel in LD 22 (if PRI), lastly the rout in LD 21

these are a bit obvious just figured i would mention

when intalling the t1 is there a sequence of installing the enet card and cabeling to the 720c card.
Do you insert the enet then the 720c and then connect all the cable?

no real sequence... install the enet with the faceplate disabled, install the 720 and the cables... are you putting a dch on it?? that will require that you dis and enl the msdl card, otherwise, build your T-1 and your trunks and enll in ld 60

One last question.
When I first programmed the t1 I installed it as a pri and it had 24 channels. I was told to program as pri2 and when I print out that comes up with 31 channels.
Setting up qsig t1 for shoretel system.
Are pri 2 31 channels - just wondering if that sounds right?
I don't have the system piggy backed yet and it looks like it is functioning fine so far.

USA -
So your thinking to piggy back the Shoretel I need to have it programed in CEQU as PRI2 and not PRI?
It must get all the framing off the shoretel system? There are no options for ESF or any of that when doing PRI2.
Another question about the DCH. I am programing a dchannel (13). I have a primary dch 0 on msdl 15 on port 0 and a back up DCH 1 on msdl 15 port 0. If I am going to use port 1 on the msdl should I choose the back up to disable so I don't disrupt service when I disable the MSDL card ?
Also getting this message- can I shut it off.

I think you need to be ESF/B8ZS for the line coding and framing. You then need to program as NI2 protocol on the dchannel and route. PRI2 is the equivelant to an E1 that is why you have more channels.

Any thought on the dch question?

Another question about the DCH. I am programing a dchannel (13). I have a primary dch 0 on msdl 15 on port 0 and a back up DCH 1 on msdl 15 port 0. If I am going to use port 1 on the msdl should I choose the back up to disable so I don't disrupt service when I disable the MSDL card ?

yes, that would be what you'd want to do but you say the primary and secondary are on the card and the same port, can you clear that up?

Also, you are getting this very confusing, you have a primary dch 0 and a b/u dch 1 and are programming a new dch13?? To add a new dch wont hurt the others.... to change over to the b/u dch wont do anything for your new dch

Sorry - let me try to clear this up. There was a post above:

are you putting a dch on it?? that will require that you dis and enl the msdl card, otherwise, build your T-1 and your trunks and enll in ld 60

So in my response there was a type - o . It should have read:
I have a primary dch 0 on msdl 9 on port 0 and a back up DCH 1 on msdl 15 port 0. This already exists prior.

I have now programmed a 3rd - dch13. To be used for my shoretel link to loop 86 route 53.
I am wondering if I have to disable the msdl and enable what effect will that have to my existing dchannel (depending on which msdl card I choose). If there is a disruption in service (disable/enable) - I should then put my new dch13 (port 1) on the same msdl (15) backup dch - so I don't disrupt service for this proceedure. Is this a fast proceedure? Maybe it won't be that service affecting. That is what I am wondering.
I apprecitate all your help -
