Good day,
I would like to install SharePoint Services on to my web server but I see that it is an upgrade of SharePoint Team Services v1.0.

If I'm using SharePoint Services for the first time, do I have to install SharePoint Team Services v1.0 first before I install SharePoint Services or can I just install SharePoint Service which includes SP1?

Thanking you for your help in advance,
Onetouch

You can install wss with service pack 1 directy, no team service is required they have nothing to do with each other. I think your confused by the name of the installer (STSV2.exe) This name is a stupid mistake by MS.

Good day,
Thanks, I appreciate your help on this matter.

Good Afternoon,

I am currently setting up Sharepoint Server and am trying to come up with a set template for each site.

Can you default version history to automatically switch on for all sites/workspaces/document libraries?

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ahhhh a thread hyjacker... :)

You cannot change al you current sites with one switch..

But if you base a template on a site where version history is on then it will be on in the site or list you base on that template (site or list template).

To make a template, first base a site on an exsiting template then, alter this site by adding/deleting/setting. editing in frontpage adding webparts. Then save this site as template, Site-settings\save as template.

To use the template i must be added to the site template gallery, or if you want to use it for topsite it must be added to the global site template gallery
example: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\BIN\stsadm.exe" -o addtemplate -filename "c:\template.stp" -title "New Template" -description "Template blalalalaa"

Easy right ;)

To be complete i ll also tell you where you can hide the existing template form the users so they cant be used.

Go to Webtemp.xml in templates\1033\XML

There you can change the HIDDEN property of a particular configuration ("Team Site" "Blank Page" etc.) for it not to show up when you create a site.
This needs an IISRESET.

If you have any question, please ask, and i will anwser if i know the anwser... :p Or else there is always Thomas2000 !
