I have tried a number of changes to the bootstr but have had no luck. The system locks up everytime after about 2 minutes during the diskette boot. Has anybody had any luck with this particular machine. It does have the Perc Raid controller.

Thanks but that URL directs me to sign into Dell's system. I can not view it.

You did not give us your version of Openserver - the Perc3 may not work on versions prior to 5.0.6.

From my notes on the last 2 Dell server installs I did:

Adaptec Based PERC
(Mentions Adaptec on POST messages)
IDE CDROM: type defbootstr link=percraid
SCSI CDROM: type defbootstr link=percraid Srom=alad(0,5,0)

LSI or AMI Based PERC
(Mentions LSI or American Megatrends on POST)
IDE CDROM: type defbootstr link=amird
SCSI CDROM: type defbootstr link=amird Srom=alad(0,5,0).

SCO version 5.0.2 and 5.0.4. Have heard that others have had success on these versions. Tried both perc and percraid in the bootstring. I don't believe it even gets that far. It hangs on the third section of the original installation. Goes through memory, then loading text and then it hangs.

I've installed the Perc and the Perc II on Openserver 5.0.2 and 5.0.4 and 5.0.5 Can't answer about the Perc III, but it looks like PatW covered it well.
