Colleagues,
We have two boxes, both are Win Server 2016: one of them is designated as the Web server box, another one used as a "residency" for SQL Server 2012.
I have asked here for help with errors 1 and 18 here while trying to establish connection for Web server to SQL Server, and you all pointed out that it's the matter of ODBC driver, + TLC vs. SSL.
Maybe I'm getting senile with the age :)-(), but from all the materials I've read about ODBC Driver 13(or 13.1), I could not figure out ([blush]):

on what box this driver needs to be installed, Web server box or SQL Server box?

Please advise.

TIA!

Regards,

Ilya

First, the computer, that wants to make a connection to the SQL server has to have an ODBC driver installed. So, the webserver. It's a server, but it's a client of the SQL Server with any ASP classic or ASP.net application making connections to an SQL database.

But the reasons and necessary steps we talked about had no single guaranteed solution. Worth trying, but my final recommendation was to require a sysadmin. I have understood this may be the hardest to get via a ticket in the bureaucracy of your company, but it's the only possibility to get several things checked and tried if one doesn't work.

Before I recap what you can find back in your last thread, let me just wish you good luck with that and hope it fixes the situation.

If you don't find your old thread, look in the upper right corner there's a tab "My Stuff" that will get you to your threads.

Bye, Olaf.
