This is a newbie question:

In order to install a digital card, does the system have to be powered down, or can this be done live? I guess what I mean is, are the cards hot swap capable?

Thanks for any info.

If it is a new installation simply install the digital line card into a spare vacant slot. Then program an extension on this port. If an extension is not programed then the card will not be seen and will still be seen as a vacant slot.
If you are swapping out a digital line card for another you should disable the card then swap cards then re-enable the card again.

Hope this helps?

Thanks for the reply, but does the PBX shelf have to be powered down before inserting the card?

Sorry - I forgot to state that you do not need to power down the shelf.
