This one is causing me to pull out my hair. I took an Intel D850GB Motherboard and put in an older systems chasis. I hooked up everything and the computer will not turn on. So I figured it was the power supply. I ordered a new ATX12v v2.0 and installed that.. Hooked everything up and..... nothing. The only thing that happens when I plug in the power supply is a green light turns on on the motherboard but that's it. The fan doesn't even run for that split second when you plug it in.
I made sure that the power switch was hooked up correctly to the motherboard and all cables were correctly hooked up.. There is one thing that is making me wonder. There is a 6 pin adapter right next to the main 20 pin adapter. This power supply I received did not come with an adapter for the 6 pin plug. My sales rep though assured me that this power supply should work without this being plugged in, but Im not sure. I usually don't build computers from scratch...
Anyone have any suggestions?! Thanks for all help!
Here is a link to what the motherboard looks like....
