I'm trying to install HP-UX with a 64 bit kernel on an HP9000 D380. I don't see an option during the setup process that allows me to specify this. I'm fairly certian it can be installed as we have an identical machine running 11i 64 bit. Can someone confirm that while during the setup there is an option to select a 64 bit install? Or maybe that there are different versions of HP-UX, a 32 bit Version and a 64 bit version and possibly I have the wrong CD?

Thanks guys,
-B

Hi Brian, there is an option on one of the early load screens that allows you to select your 32/64 bit version. The latest f/w for your system is 42.11 which is downloadable from the hp f/w download site. when it comes up with the 32 bit option if you press return at that point you should then get a choice, select your choice of 64 bits and then there should be no problems
cheers

Thanks malvin,

We had an older firmware version that did not support 64 bit. Once updated, the option to install 64 bit was available.

Thanks again,
Brian
