Installing Groupwise on Windows 2003 Server

Hello,

I want to install groupwise 7 on a clean Windows 2003 server.

But the installer says i have to install from a netware client.

I idea to solve this problem

That's not all. You also have to install eDirectory (contains all groupwise objects and users). So install eDir and the Novell client on the W2003 server and you're set. is it safe to assume you don't have eDir anywhere in your system already?

Trying to install GW 6.5.6 client on MS2003 server for use with Blackberry BES software. However, clicking on the setup.exe file does nothing! If I try to install on my WinXP desktop the setup process starts normally so the downloaded files are OK.

What about MS2003 Server is interfering with a normal GW client install? b/t/w - we had successfully installed GW6.5.5 and I removed it prior to trying 6.5.6 so didn't seem to have the problem before?

Now I'm puzzled (not uncommon!) The old GW 6.5.5 won't install either. Just for kicks I put in a design application and the install process began without a hitch. However, it stalls when trying to install either GW client application. Hourglass appears for 1 seconds or so then disappears - no errors, no messages, nothing in event history. Simply won't run the setup.exe files. ????

There is a 'feature' in Windows 2003 that you have to change to make this work. I believe it's called "Data Execution Prevention".. It has two options.. Whatever the default is, change it to the other setting.. It's found on the Properties page on My Computer under one of the advanced tabs.

Help, I am a newbie to GWise, I need to install a fresh GW6.5 but dont know where to start. I have a Win2k3 server . Has any one got any step how to or any dummy for beginner of how to install GW6.5 mail messenger? Many thanks in avdvance.
