Wack in the exchange 5.5 CD, do an install as you would to install the the actual server. During the course of the install you can uncheck all the options just leaving the exchange administrator.
Thanks for that, I have now installed the administrator program from the CD, unfortunately when I try to connect to the exchange server I get a error 'INSUFFICIENT_ACCESS_RIGHTS' as the exchange server is sitting on a different domain to the one I am logged onto I tried it with the domain_name/server_name but know I get the error message 'DS_E_COMMUNICATIONS_PROBLEM'.
Sorry, this is going to sound like a dumb question...
How do I go about setting the permission level?
The reason I ask is that I don't have a security tab on the 'exchsrvr' folder to add/amend permission levels.
I have administrator access to the root of this drive as I belong to administrator group., and am setup with domain admin privileges on both domains.
use exchange admin and select properties for your "organization", "site", and "server". Within the permissions tab, add "permissions admin" rights for the user you use to make the changes you make. Good Luck!
