It is possible to install anti virus software for the Linux operating system.
The first thing that you need to do is contact Avaya and obtain a the "Root Access forms". You will need root access to install the software.
If you have any problems with the system once they have given you access and you have installed non Avaya software you may be required to remove it before they will provide diagnostic assistance or trouble shooting.
Also you may run into additional problems with furture patches since the Avaya will not be testing their software with your software.
Thank you for your input. Question, have you done this sort of procedure before? If you have any notes from past installs or any recommendation on what antivirus software to use I'd appreciate it.
I have the "Root Access" documents but we have not done it. When I read the documents and had discussions with my management we felt the risk of installing an anti-virus software was higher than the risk of getting a virus on the linux platform.
