Im installinga TN2224 circuit pack in an S8710. Can anyone tell me can I insert it into any slot, or are their certain slots for the digital circuit packs?

You can use most any slot. It does not matter if it is analog, digital, or trunk packs.

You should be able to put the card in any slot that is cabled back to your cross connect blocks. Avaya does have recommendations on placement of boards in the carrier/media gateway, but it will work in any regular board slot. I was taught by a BP that the low numbered slots in a G650 were for TN2224 cards (like slots 3 thru 7) and the high numbered slots were for DS1 boards (like slots 9 thru 13). I don't know if it was the BP techs personal preference or if this information was straight from his training with Avaya.

I hope this helps...

It does not matter which slot the card is in, they are all connected to the TDM bus, the layout your BP describes is the way AT&T used to lay out the carriers; station cards start at the left, trunk cards right, meet in the middle.
