We are trying to install a Netgear GA622T NIC in ML350 G2 - Under Windows 2000 Server with SVC Pak 3

The Install Wizard gets to the end and then states the Card may not work.
Device manager shows the NIC with a yellow Flag.

Have downloaded latest driver from Netgear and have tried different GA622T gigabit cards.

Cannot seem to get past this point, any ideas?

Is there a resource conflict detected - IRQ or memory address? -----------------------------------------------------
"It's true, its damn true!"

Good Point, have checked and no no apparent problemsfurther When I do properties on the card I get a code 10 as the error for the device.

As another test to confirm the problem we placed the GA622T (64Bit card) in a 32 Bit slot
The compaq and Win2K knew it was there installed the driver and then again said sorry it wont work.

So we installed a Netgear GA302T (32 bit Gigabit card) in the 32bit slot and you guessed it Win 2K recognised the card asked for the driver and installed it with no problems

So it appears the Compaq ML350G2 /Win2K combination is not compatible with The GA622T and current shipping or updated driver..
dang

[ponder] Perplexing to say the least

This is indeed most odd, as my organization are having exactly the same issue with the same equipment. However, to confuse matters further, we have installed the same card into a Toshiba Magnia running 2KSVR SP3 and it plays ball. Further to this, we installed into a Dell PowerEdge 600SC Workgroup server again with 2KSVR SP3 and it blew its brains out too!!! Perhaps the more expensive server hardware has a severe case of snobbery towards the lowly Netgear range of products....

Does anyone know if Netgear have been informed of this issue????

An update to this is that we finally purchased a 3Com Gigabit card and it worked first time.

I put the netgear GA622T (64Bit) card into an older Compaq DL380 and it works a treat!

Have emailed Netgear about the problem but have had no reply so far..

So our solution is plain, Old gear, Netgear, New gear, 3Com

:)

Did you disable the onboard NC3163 card? -----------------------------------------------------
"It's true, its damn true!"
-----------------------------------------------------

Yes although we wish to use both we did disable the onboard NIC in case there was a conflict of Interest... NO Improvement.
