I have a BCM 1000 that used to have 2 DTI cards. Now I have moved it to a location that uses brighthouse networks digital cable and phone. I was told to purchase the "caller ID trunk interface" and I could then plug the phone lines from BrightHouse into the interface and everything work.

First off, will this work
Second should the BCM pick up the new card auto and what do I need to remove after removing the DTI hardware to get the line to work.

intercom is for dialing internally. If u want to get an outside line right away when u p/u the handset make prime line pool a instead of i/c if all your lines are in pool a.

I changed the prime from i/c to pool a but with not the results I was looking for. Did I miss something?

Well what were the results? If prime line is set to pool A, then when you pick up the phone it will hit your first available outside line. If its set to I/C then you will either need to dial an access code (i.e., 9) or press a line key to dial out.

I set the line access - prime line - to Pool A. But when I hit the handsfree button I could only dial internally. I still needed to push the buttons on the phone that the line was assigned to, in order to get an outside line. I do have line 61 and 62 assigned to the DN line assignment. Should I remove this and just have the pool A?

No. I would double check and make sure that you have the right extension programmed. If prime line is Pool A then no matter what button you press to get DT it should be outside DT. Sounds like your missing something. Maybe your not pressing the handsfree button, maybe your pressing the last intercom key. If these are 7316e sets than the handsfree button isnt the last key on the LCD its underneather the keypad

I'm hitting the handsfree button, due to when I hit it I get a dialtone and handsfree access. But when I dial anything otherthan internal extensions I get "invalid number".

Sounds like its programmed incorrectly. Double check it and make sure that you are programming the correct extension

Yes, I think so. I added Pool A to the extension.
