Installed fonts not showing in Photoshop

Someone may have had this happen or a solution... all of a sudden Photoshop does not show any of the fonts I regularly use, I have not installed any new fonts in over 6 months. I've been using this setup for awhile now.

The font menu only displays some of them now, and just shows blank bars in the font drop menu.

Anybody with a suggestion on this? Photshop CS on Mac 10.4.6

Usually, when an Adobe app acts up the first fix is to trash preferences.

Quit photoshop. Go to user/library/preferences and trash "com.adobe.Photoshop.plist". Start photoshop and see if the problem went away.

I'm assuming that your fonts are ok in other apps.

I found out (on another forum) that Photoshop has a 300 font limit (I nowhere near have that many active!) - han'nt heard about that - have you?

I'll try the preferences bit - and font books too.. just for an experiment....

Don't screw around with Fontbook unless you're have font problems with all apps. If it's just PS, it's not fontbook.

OK no prob - before I throw away/trash any preference file I make a copy of it - just in case, and I can "put it back' - I just was expressing an idea --

Trash your font cache

Quit all apps
Trash File-> HOME/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ATS.plist
Trash Folder-> /Library/Caches/com.apple.ATS

Google up on it so you know whats going on.

If a program to do it is more your bag then maybe check out FontNuke:

Never tried it myself, I just do it the old dirty way.
