Installed Flash MX and still getting pop-ups for player install

I installed Flash MX and still when I go to some sites I get a pop-up asking me if I want to download the Flash Player. Why is this? Doesn't Flash MX install a player for Internet Explorer?

Depending... The MX application you've used may not have installed the current latest player. That could could explain why you get that warning from some sites. Regards,

OK, I downloaded a new version of Flash Player, where does it get installed. In what directory exactly?
