When running the following statement:
load dsrepair -RI -RN -RVT -RL sys:system\autodsrn.log

I get the following error in the log file:
Error: "The volume has never been installed"
Volume object ID is 00000000

Volume objects appear functional in NWAdmin

This started after DS.NLM was upgraded to ver 6.13. The tech unloaded the DS module and reloaded the new module without rebooting.

I know the fix but can anybody explain why this would happen.

Thanks

Are you running the latest version of DSREPAIR.NLM that is shipped with DS v6.13?

Also, Novell recommends the following command to unload and reload DS, I would never just unload and reload:

SET DSTRACE = *. -----------------------------------------------------
"It's true, its damn true!"

The Novell TID below may help you out. I know it is an old TID:

As to why it occurred, I get the impression from that TID that NDS got screwed somehow looking for installed volumes. Were the NDS pointers still there in NWAdmin? Have you also applied this to all of your servers (Master and Read/Write servers)? -----------------------------------------------------
