I installed Sharepoint 2.0 on my 2003 box. It works great, but I already had content (other web applications) on there. How do I seperate the two, so I can run my current web apps, and still run sharepoint?
Did you install SharePoint with the WMSDE or with the SQL2000? If you installed with the WMSDE then you have an option to specify a location other than the default website. You do that with the /datadir= option (you will have to install from a command line).
SharePoint by default extends the Default Website if that /datadir option is not used during installation, so any applications/websites under Default Website should have been backed up before doing the SharePoint installation.
I already installed it. Darn, I wish I would have known that from the beginning. Is it worth uninstalling, or would it be better to try and make it work?
Well, I do not think that uninstalling it will actually help. Might be easier for you to get your applications do run on another website instead of the default one.
It all depends on what kind of other applications you have running. I am not an IIS or webserver expert, so I am not sure if I can be of much help here.
