installation package could not be opened

i did some thing to my 3dmax-4 it will not uninstall, run install or anything?? How do i fix this? I keep getting the error "INSTALLATION PACKAGE COULD NOT BE OPENED CONTACT THE APPLICATION VENDOR TO VERIFY THAT THIS IS A VALID WINDOWS INSTALLER PACKAGE".
