I have installed the Samba-Server on an IBM RS6000 with AIX 5.1.
When I launch "smbstatus" I get the following message:
0509-036 Cannot load program smbstatus because of the following errors:
0509-150 Dependent module /usr/lib/libiconv.a(libiconv.so.2) could not be loaded.
0509-152 Member libiconv.so.2 is not found in archive

I received the same error when trying to run Samba 3.0.4 on an IBM RS6000 running AIX 5.1. I downloaded the samba binaries from Does anyone have any ideas on what to try next?

Hi,

I'm having exacty the same problem. Just hoping you solved it and can help me out :)

The only thing I found googling was the following:

Where it states that with installing libiconv package from the bull site, samba runs, but then telnet is out of order. I've not tried this yet, as for one thing can't seem to locate the Bull version of libiconv.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Thanks,

Neil.
