Hi All.

This is actually my first post on tek-tips. So apologies foremost if I'm a little bit off the mark. I love this site! I use it all the time for its Nortel CS1000 forum posts, it's just taken me a life time to join. /sigh

Anyways, today... I finally recieved (long story) a quote to get an analogue NT5K02ADE5 FALC card installed into our Avaya/Nortel CS1000 r7.0 system. Well, frankly, I'm quite annoyed! The quote from the third party company has installation costs on par with the cost of the card itself (roughly 3k)! Which I know is nut's especially into reading some of the forum posts and how some folks just raise a support calls to get stuff like this installed after they physically commission it themselves.

So after a bit of reading tonight (on here), i've come to learn thats its actually pretty straight forward to install one of these things into the CS1000. From what i can see you just need to the following.

- Physically install the card into a spare IPE (expansion cabinet) slot,
- Slot the cabling in to the card slot on the back (done this before for PRI's and old DiGSet Card)
- Have Analogue licenses, which i'll have shortly (preordered)
- LD 10 > NEW > CARDSLT
- LD 32 enable the card after you got the first TN on Unit 00.

Well, thats all i can see to it. Though, I thought for the sake for someone who is willing to help a new timer to the forum out, I thought I would post some output on our current system. So people could actually help me in picking the right loop, cabinet and slot. If you know what i mean.

Thoughts all?

So people know, I have experience with troubleshooting etc within cslogin, oam and pdt. Gosh, dealing with a Call Server in our sister CS1000 r7.0 nearly drove me nuts today.

Big Thanks to anyone that can help :) !

Hi buddy.

Yep, we are out of licenses but they're already on their way. Avaya are cutting the keycode now supposedly. Though i took them about 3 months to get me on from my other Cs1000 r7.0 site.

We'll have an outage involved anyways as we're actually downgrading our IP user licences to cater for extra/new TDM Enhance ones. We're right at the max of the CPU boundary of our system.

Cheers for the response buddy.

Trent.

So just looking at our CS1000 system, would it be safe to say to put this card into 000 0 09?
